Starting Monday, December 18 due to ongoing renovations, University Advancement at William & Mary will be operating with limited staff next door to our Office of University Advancement at the below address:

University Advancement will be closed for the holidays beginning Thursday, December 21 at 5 p.m. There will be limited staff at the above address on December 22, 27, 28 and 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to assist donors with questions and year-end gifts.

Ways to complete your 2023 gift to William & Mary by the end of the year

Your gift by credit card

Online

Credit card gifts can be made online through Sunday, December 31, 2023 by midnight. Please visit https://give.wm.edu.

By mail

For tax purposes, credit card gifts must be received, charged and approved — not just postmarked — by Friday, December 29, 2023, 5 p.m. to count as a calendar year 2023 gift. This is for credit card gifts sent in the mail only.

By telephone

Call 757-221-1008 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) to have someone assist you with taking your credit card gift by phone. In times of increased call volume, please leave a message and we will get back to you promptly.

Your gift by check

Date your check on or before December 31, 2023, and be sure it is postmarked on or before December 31, 2023. Checks sent via the USPS must have a 2023 postmark.

Gifts received at William & Mary’s Office of University Advancement will count as a calendar year 2023 gift. Limited staff will be available to accept your check on December 22, 27, 28 and 29 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Gift of securities

Gifts of securities must arrive in one of our existing brokerage accounts by the end of the trading day prior to or on December 29 (the last trading day of the calendar year). Please be aware that this is the deadline for the funds to be in our brokerage account and this requires lead time for your broker to transfer the funds which can be at least three to five business days.
